With the approval of six resolutions Tuesday, the Washington County Board of Supervisors kept the county in business by giving departments their budgeted allocations and grants to a number of other groups.
One resolution provides for transferring the maximum funds to the Secondary Roads Department; however if revenues fall short so does the allocation. As it stands the funds, from General Basic and Rural Services, will provide more than $1.2 million.
The resolution for county grants totals $386,690, distributed as follows: HACAP, $120,000; Mini-Bus, $45,000; Fair and 4-H, $16,000; Fairgrounds, $17,300; County Historic Preservation Commission, $4,750; Humane Society (PAWS and Moire), $18,800; Washington Main Street, $5,000; WEDG, $19,000; Workplace Learning Connection, $840; Washington Public Library, $10,000, Wellman Parkside Activities Center, $10,000 and the Washington County Public Library Association, $120,000. For the first six, the funds are distributed one-quarter per quarter; WEDG is one time in July, the next two, one time in August, the next two once in October and the last, semi-annually.
“Now we can began to function for next year,” noted auditor Bill Fredrick.
