Rollin J. Gingerich, 94, of Kalona, Iowa, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Pleasantview Home, Kalona, following a lingering illness. Rollin Gingerich portrait
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Kalona Mennonite Church with Pastors Scott Swartzendruber and David L. Yoder officiating. Visitation will be held at Kalona Mennonite Church Friday, August 7, 2009, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Kalona Mennonite Church and a family burial will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery Thursday, July 16.

Rolin J. Gingerich was born June 15, 1915, the son of Charles and Nettie Miller Gingerich. He was the graduate of Brush No. 8 rural school. Mr. Gingerich was married to Kathryn Kauffman March 28, 1937 in Kalona.
Mr. Gingerich was a farmer. In addition to his love for farming, he enjoyed raising, training, showing, and judging draft horses and mules. He attended Kalona Mennonite Church, was part of the Kalona Koffee Klub, Optimist Club, Iowa Draft Horse Association, he served on Patron’s Mutual Insurance Board of Directors.
Mr. Gingerich is survived by children Faye (Clair) Brenneman, Palmer Lake, Colorado; Warren (Esther) Gingerich, Kalona, Iowa; Lois (Duane) Beck, Raleigh, North Carolina; Orval (Cleta) Gingerich, Minneapolis, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law Karen Gingerich, Parnell, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters ,Mary Wagamon, Washington, Iowa; Jeanne Wallerich, Keota, Iowa; three sisters-in-law Marjorie Gingerich, Wellman, Iowa; Marge Gingerich, Williamsburg, Iowa; and Phyllis Gingerich, Kalona.
Mr. Gingerich was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathryn, son Don Gingerich, three brothers; Clarence, Wayne and Leo Gingerich, two sisters, Hilda Fisher and Myrtle Rensberger.
