Ronald M. Dusterhoft, 56, of rural Kalona, Iowa, died in his home Sunday, July 12, 2009, following a brief illness.
A celebration of life services was held Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 5 p.m. in Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 15, 2009, from 4-5 p.m. in the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established. Online condolences may be sent to peterseimfuneralhome.com.
Ronald M. Dusterhoft was born February 25, 1953, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of George and Norma Jean (Mantz) Dusterhoft. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a forklift operator and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Iowa City Lodge.
Mr. Dusterhoft is survived by his father, George Dusterhoft, Cape Coral, Florida; a special friend, Charlene Onnen, rural Kalona; two brothers, Mark Dusterhoft, Cedar Rapids; and Tom and his wife Ruth Dusterhoft, Olathe, Kansas; a sister, Julie and her husband Jim Kretzschmar, Iowa City, Iowa; three nephews, Chad Johnson, Britt More, and Ryan Dusterhoft; and one niece, Kirsten Dusterhoft.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Mantz.
