JJ (James Loren) Vest III

JJ (James Loren) Vest III, 19, of Wellman, Iowa, died Sunday, October 4, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, in the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. Matt Freel will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemtery. Visitation was Wednesday, October 7, from 2-8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman.  A general memorial has been established.  Messages and tributes may be left for the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. 
JJ Vest was born September 22, 1990, in Iowa City, the son of James L. and Julie (Clark) Vest Jr. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School and was attending the Kirkwood College construction management program. He worked for Pat Cady Construction. JJ enjoyed cars, trucks, riding his dirt bike, golf, bow hunting and his dog Chevelle. 
He is survived by his parents, James and Julie Vest Jr., Wellman; his sister, Jamie Vest, Wellman; grandparents, Beverly (Mam) Vest, Wellman; Jim Clark, Ocala, Florida; great-grandmothers, June Clay, Arizona City, Arizona; Helen Rotzinger, Bettendorf, Iowa; an aunt, Tammy Vest, Wellman; an uncle, Jerry Suchomel of North Carolina; and several great aunts and uncles. 
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James L. Vest Sr.; and great-grandparents, Fred Clay Sr, and Anna Clark.
