Hilda Marie Blum

Hilda Marie Blum, 86 of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, October 9, 2009, at the Brownlee Care Center in Washington following declining health.
Funeral services were Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Diana Lovett and Pastor Marilyn Coffman officiating. Burial was in the Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona, Iowa. Memorials may be designated to the English River Church of the Brethren in South English. 
Hilda Marie Graf was born May 11, 1923, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Jerome and Effie Belle (White) Graf. She attended Keota schools and was united in marriage to Clarence William Blum September 18, 1946, in Wellman. 
Mrs. Blum was a member of the English River Church of the Brethren. She farmed with her husband in the Washington area for 35 years and moved to Brownlee in November of 2008. Mrs. Blum enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and playing cards.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Leo, Raymond, Gerald, Elvin and William; and a sister, Frances McCrabb.
