Thomas “Cal” Clark

Funeral Services for Thomas (Cal) Clark, 85, of Eldridge, Iowa, formally of Kalona and Wayland, were held Wednesday, October 28, in the Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona with Pastor Gerry Kahler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona United Methodist Church, the Kalona Golf Club, and Grand Haven Retirement Community of Eldridge.
Thomas (Cal) Clark was born June 3, 1942, in Wayland, Iowa, the son of Frank D. and Martha Pearl (Pence) Clark. He graduated from Wayland High School in 1942 and was united in marriage to Kathleen “Tike” Jackson in Kalona June 23, 1944. Mr. Clark served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII (1943 – 1946) in the Pacific. He was a member of the Kalona United Methodist Church, Kalona Golf Course, the Elks Club, the Wayland American Legion, and served on the Wayland Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, singing in the church choir, woodworking and carpentry, traveling, playing cards and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen “Tike” Clark, Eldridge; a daughter, Laura (Steve) Sinn, Eldridge; three sons, Dave (Peg) Clark and John (Sandy) Clark, all of Wayland; Joe (Rita) Clark, Eagan, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Ann (Richard) Stoops, Liberal, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Norman Clark; and one sister, Erma Wenger.
