Kalona Historical Village addition

Kalona Historical Village addition

When the $234,000 addition to the Visitors Center in the Kalona Historical Village is done, the east windows that look onto the Grout Church will still frame the same scene, only closer. The windows will be carefully removed then reinstalled in the addition that is adding two museums and storage space to the Center. Work is expected to be done in December. The project received a $117,000 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundations which is approximately half of its cost. One of the new museums will house a permanent display of Amish quilts drawn from the museums more than 300 item collection. (Photo by Mary Zielinski)
