Bates played in All-Star game November
by Coach Dwight Gingerich
Amanda Bates, Iowa Mennonite School volleyball player, was selected to play in the Iowa Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game in Carroll, Iowa, November 17. Bates is the first IMS player to be so honored since Jessica Wilson was selected in 1999.
Bates, a unanimous first team all-conference player, was also recently named to the Des Moines Register All-State second team. She was one of 32 seniors selected to play in the All-Star game.
Bates averaged 3.2 kills and 3.5 digs per game and twice served a school record eight aces in a game this season. She will take her game to Western Missouri State University on a volleyball scholarship next fall where she will study Pre-Physical Therapy or Athletic Training.
