Three Chicks nest remodeling underway this week

Serious remodeling work will be underway Thursday and Friday at Three Chicks Publications, LLC which means the office for The Wellman Advance and The Riverside Current may be closed.
Plans include replacing the exterior siding (which has slowly been falling off) and installing an interior wall and small entrance way.
The wall is to separate the publishing operation from the coffee-ice cream shop. The latter will be operated by Mary Lee Ehrenfelt and Clara Bontrager.
The coffee-ice cream shop, which still remains unnamed, expects to be in operation by December. It will have a name by then. Since both businesses were recipients of grants from the city of Wellman, all renovations need to be done by the end of December.
Installation of a new compressor has returned the soda fountain to full use. The booths already have been refurbished, and Ehrenfelt and Bontrager have plans for some bistro tables for the window area.
Items for the newspaper may be left in the outside drop box. However, some of the staff may be in the office Thursday.
