New law firm opens September 1

Attorneys Albion J. Young and Brandon L. Edgington announce the formation of a new law firm, Young and Edgington, LLC, which opens at the present site of Young’s Law Office September 1.

Attorney Young has practiced law in Wellman since April 6, 1953. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Attorney Edgington was admitted to the practice of law in Iowa July 9. He is a graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.
Edgington is married to Jo Lynn (Jo) Hitchings who is employed by Hills Bank and Trust Company in its Gilbert Street office as a customer service supervisor/officer. Both grew up in southeast Iowa, he in the Mount Pleasant area and she in the New London area. Both said they enjoy small-town Iowa life and living near the University of Iowa and the Iowa City metropolitan area.
The couple presently live in Williamsburg but are looking forward to living in Wellman after selling their Williamsburg residence and buying one in Wellman. They have two children, Madison, 6, and Miles, 2, and said they want their children to be educated in an exceptionally good school system such as Mid-Prairie.
The new firm will engage in the general practice of law. Attorney Young will practice primarily in the areas of probate and trust law (wills, trusts, estates), tax law, real estate law, collections and general business practice. Attorney Edgington will practice not only in those areas but also hopes to practice personal injury litigation, family law, criminal law and other areas in which Young does not practice. The firm plans to offer a broad range of legal services to the public.
The Edgingtons are members of the Methodist Church and are looking forward to membership in various community organizations and participating in various community activities.
