Norean Weeber

Norean Weeber, 90, a resident of Pleasantview Home, Kalona, Iowa, died there Sunday, May 17, 2009, following a lingering illness. Private graveside services are planned with burial in Welsh Cemetery, rural Iowa City, Iowa. The body was cremated. Memorial donations may be directed to the Kalona First Responders. Norean Tarter was born March 20, 1919, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Polly Martin Tarter. She was a doll maker and the owner and operator of Big D Doll Shop in Kalona for a number of years. She belonged to Hawkeye Doll Club and Old Capitol Doll Club and she enjoyed making dolls and going to doll conventions. She was united in marriage to Robert Weeber January 25, 1946, in Iowa City.
Mrs. Weeber is survived by two children and their spouses, Bobbie and Jim Rose, Riverside, Iowa; and Bill and Patty Weeber, Erie, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen VanSittert, Greenwood, Indiana; and three special nieces, Judy Theresa, and Barbara.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Weeber (March 29, 1996); a daughter, Katherine Weeber; and three sisters.
