Donald Eugene Temple, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, in his home of a sudden illness.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 1702 Iowa Street, Davenport. Please join family and friends for music, dessert, and memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Temple family.
Donald Eugene Temple was born September 12, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Ruth Temple. He attended Lake City High School through his junior year and relocated to Traer, Iowa, following the sudden death of his parents. He was a 1960 graduate of North Tama High School. He was a musician his entire life and will be remembered for his rich, soothing voice, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought to so many through is music across the state of Iowa.
Mr. Temple is survived by his friend and companion, Roberta “Bert” Connelly, Davenport; brothers, Rick Temple, Davenport; Jack Temple, Lake City, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Ladonna Temple, Lake City; his former wife, Nancy Temple, Wellman, Iowa; children Kathy (Scott) Carlson, Kalona; Donald “Butch” (Monica) Temple, Crawfordsville, Iowa; and Nick Temple, Wellman; grandchildren Cassie and Zac Carlson; and Abbey, Nick, Ben, Maddie, and Eli Temple; and a great-grandchild, Kaia Temple.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Temple; and a granddaughter, Sarah.
