James “Jim” Blosser

James “Jim” Blosser, 65, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.James Blosser
Funeral services were Friday, October 16, 2009, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, with Pastor Jerry Van Hooser officiating. Burial was in the English River Church of the Brethren Cemetery in South English, Iowa. Beatty Funeral Home in Washington was in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church or Hospice of Washington County.
James William Blosser was born February 25, 1944, in South English the son of Oren D. and Emily Kathryn Slaubaugh Blosser. He graduated from South English High School and was united in marriage to Janice Marie Miller July 1, 1966. Janice preceded him in death January 23, 1998. Jim and Mary Mast Bender were united in marriage July 19, 2003, in the English River Church of the Brethren, South English. Mr. Blosser farmed from 1966 – 1986 and was then employed at Amana Refrigeration for 18 years. He later drove school bus for the Washington school district for four years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant and enjoyed spending time with his family, church, gardening, farming and tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Blosser, Washington; four children and their spouses, Jeffrey (Jill) Blosser, West Des Moines, Iowa; Jane (Jake) Sanders, South English; Julie (Patrick) Zuber, Williamsburg, Iowa; Joani (Jason) Westhoff, South English; 12 grandchildren; and one brother and his spouse, John David (Janice) Blosser, Pace, Florida.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents; his wife, Janice (January 23, 1998); and one brother, Marcus Blosser.
