Esther Miller

Esther Miller, 96, of Kalona, Iowa, died at her home Saturday, October 17, 2009, following a lingering illness. A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Octoer 20, 2009, in Sharon Bethel Church. Burial was in Sharon Bethel Cemetery, Kalona. Esther Miller was born February 25, 1913, in rural Kalona the daughter of Amos J. and Elizabeth Brenneman Gingerich. She attended rural schools. She married Chris M. Miller November 24, 1933 in Johnson County. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Edna (Wallace) Borntrager, Kalona; Oren Dale (Emma) Miller, Kalona; Ellen Miller, Kalona; Norman (Elma) Miller, Middlebury, Indiana; Lilly (John H.) Miller, Kalona; a son-in-law, Calvin M. Yoder, Kalona; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Beachy, Stevensport, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris (August 3, 2003); a daughter, Erma Yoder; four sisters, Barbara Miller, Katie Miller, Lena Bender, Cora Gingerich; and four brothers, Chris, Joe, Omar and Willard Gingerich.
