Pauline Dill

Pauline Dill, 95, of Keota, Iowa, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the United Church of Faith in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial was in the Keota Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Ron Dill Memorial Field or Keota QRS. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota was in charge of the arrangements. Pauline Hicks was born June 18, 1915, in Wellman, Iowa, to Frank L. and Cora O. (King) Hicks. She graduated from Wellman High School in 1934 and took one year of Business Training in Iowa City. January 18, 1939, she married Glen “Whitie” Dill in Sigourney, Iowa. Mrs. Dill was a secretary for an attorney in Wellman for seven years, Keota High School secretary for seven years and retired from Pioneer Mutual Insurance Association in 1984 after 16 years of employment. She was a member of the United Church of Faith in Keota and Women United and enjoyed reading and handiwork.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry L. Dill and wife Ruth Ann, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; William G. “Bill” Dill and wife Jackie, Grinnell, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Dill, Keota; six grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Sam Hicks, Murray, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1980; a son, Ronald Dill in 1984; and two brothers, Marvin and Darwin Hicks.
