Mid-Prairie shuts out L-M

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks football team demolished Louisa-Muscatine 56-0 at Letts Friday, September 12, in steady rain.
Mid-Prairie soared out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and had a 48-0 lead.
In the first quarter, Tanner Miller scored a touchdown on a 20-yard run, Josh Boone scored a TD on a 51-yard run, and Micah Berg scored a touchdown on a 47-yard pass-play. Miller’s kicks for the extra point after each touchdown were good.
In the second quarter, Boone scored another touchdown on a 24-yard run, Abe Kos scored six on a 40-yard punt return, and Berg intercepted the ball and ran it 34 yards for another touchdown. Miller hit all three extra-point kicks to bring the score to 42-0.
To finish the scoring for the second quarter, Brody Barthelman scored a touchdown on a five-yard run.
There was no score in the third quarter. In the final quarter, Barthelman scored on a 32-yard run, and Mark AldemanÕs run for the two-point conversion was good.
Mid-Prairie had 334 total yards of offense to L-MÕs 12 total yards.
