IMS girls vs Pekin

IMS had a solid first half of basketball against the Pekin Panthers. They girls were able to take the ball inside for a first quarter score of 14-17. IMS’ solid defense led to a number of steals and they were able to draw numerous fouls. Unfortunately, however, they were unable to convert at the free throw line. Pekin pulled away and led at halftime with a score of 25-31.
The second half was dominated by Pekin when they switched from a man-to-man to a zone defense, which gave IMS numerous problems. The IMS girls were held to just eight points in the second half. Kelsey Shrock led all scorers with 12 points, six rebounds, and six steals. Liz Miller and Allison Bontrager each contributed six points, Carly Unruh five points, Emma Yutzy and Samantha Beachy rounded out the scoring with two points each. Haley Slaubaugh led IMS players with seven rebounds.
