IMS girls’ place sixth
submitted by Marty Gingerich
The IMS girls team placed sixth out of eleven full teams at the South East Iowa Super Conference meet October 8 at IMS. Elana Gingerich and Madeline Miller both earned all-conference honors by placing fourteenth and fifteenth with times of 17:52 and 17:53. Both times are personal bests on the course which is an accomplishment considering the muddy conditions.
Mallory Martens was twenty-seventh in 19:18 and Linnea Slabaugh placed sixtieth in 21:48. Britni Piegors ran a good race taking two minutes off her time on the course at our first meet.
Brenna Conger of Pekin won the race in 16:10, one second off the course record. 2008 class 1A state champs Pekin won the team title with a stingy 18 points.
