Stimson and Cady still Hot

The Mid-Prairie Jr. High soccer team won again on October 10th by a score of 8-0.
Nick Stimson started the scoring 7 minutes into the first half by stealing a ball from the opposing defense and scoring unassisted from 15 yards out. 8 minutes later Stimson used the same pressure and scored again from around the penalty kick area. The first 21 minutes Mid-Prairie had some good shots on goal but the opposing keeper and defense were able to hold on and keep the shots out of goal. With the mid field and defense starting to work together the opportunities were starting to turn into goals. After a nice exchange from defender Dustin Yoder to mid fielder Jordan Ulin Mid-Prairie was attacking again. The opposing defense cleared the serve from Spencer Shrock out of bounds and Mid-Prairie was awarded a corner kick. Reggie Hostetler served a great ball from the corner to an awaiting Wyatt Cady that finished the ball in the air before it was able to hit the ground. The two of Hostetler and Cady have worked well together this year and have a lot of goals and assists to compliment each other. It only took 2 minutes for Hostetler and Cady to get together and score again. Hostetler played a great ball into the box where Cady used his finishing ability to score off Hostetler’s serve.
Midfielders consisting of Jarrett Truitt, Alli Riggan, Jordan Ulin and Riley Sieren played well and worked together as a unit making the game a lopsided battle. Dustin Yoder came to a forward position from defense where he started the game and worked hard on the right side of the field. At 27 minutes into the first half Yoder took a pass from Kaleb Martin at mid field and dribbled down to the 18. Yoder placed a bending shot on goal into the upper right corner of the goal where the opposing keeper had no chance to make a play on it. With time running out in the first half Mid-Prairie took the opportunity to push 1 more goal into the net. This time it started with Dylan Schrock stepping up and making a great steal from the opposing team and playing the ball ahead to an awaiting Dustin Yoder. Yoder dribbled past a defender and made a great pass to Wyatt cady standing inside the box. Cady using his speed got a step on the defense on finished with a hard shot on goal to end the scoring for the first half. This is Cady’s third hat trick of the year.
The second half of the game Mid-Prairie was continuing to shine as 4 minutes into the half Spencer Shrock made a good serve to an awaiting Mason Quigley in the box. Quigley had a great finish back post that the keeper was unable to defend. Quigley is very versatile and can play any position on the field. He has great presence and understands the game.
Nick Stimson is another player that works hard on the field. Last year he made a lot of runs backside to goal to finish serves but would come up empty because opposing keepers would make great plays. His determination is being rewarded this year. At 12 minutes into the second half Stimson took a ball the left side of the field and scored unassisted. Stimson recorded another hat trick and now has 2 on the year.
Although not scoring, the defenders of Kirby Shetler, Kaleb Martin Kaleb Michel were moved up to finish the game and took 8 shots on goal. Their strong play in the back field is what makes a lot of attacks start and they are starting to step forward and be used as drops for the offensive attacks
