John David Moyer

November 27, 1955 - October 31, 2008

John David Moyer, 52, of Kaysville, Utah, died Friday, October 31, 2008, in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his family at his bedside, from complications resulting from a motorcycle accident.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 5, 2008, in the Kaysville East Stake Center. Interment was in Kaysville City Cemetery with military honors. Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
John David Moyer was born November 27, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of David Sherman Moyer and C. Lillian Showman. He was raised in Iowa and educated in Iowa schools until he began his six-year enlistment with the United States Air Force. John was united in marriage to Janet Sue Larsen June 18, 1976, in Kaysville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple, and they were blessed with four children and many foster children.
He lived with his family in Clearfield, Utah, Iowa, New Mexico, and for the last 18 years, Kaysville. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and served in many church callings but particularly enjoyed his many years in scouting. He was an avid learner and enjoyed four-wheeling, motorcycles, ham radio, woodworking, and being in the mountains spending time with this family.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Moyer, Kaysville; daughter Jeanine, Kaysville; son Chris, Kaysville; son Jeremy, Island Park, Idaho; son Derek, Lindon, Utah; foster son Nick Carter; mother-in-law, Arel J. Larsen; parents; siblings; and family in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Darrel Thompson and Barbara L. Thompson.
