Election Results
Republicans kept control of the Washington County Board of Supervisors with incumbent James Miksch (1,164 votes) to Bob Goodrich’s 755 in District 1; Wes Rich, 1,010, to Mike Niffenegger, 968, District 2; Steve Davis, 1,003 to Rodney Stogdill, 822, and independnet Kim Hall, 387, District 3; Adam Mangold, 984, to Merlin Hagie, 836, District 4 and James Rosien, 1,088, to Mike Roe, 968, District 5.
Sherrif Jerry Dunbar (R) was re-elected by 5,943 to David Schweitzer’s 4,402.
Iowa House 89th District: Republican Jarad Klein, 5,298 to Democrat Larry Marek’s 5,000.
Senator Tom Harkin (D 6,090 to Christopher Reed’s 4,194. Dave Loebsack, democrat incumbent, 2nd congresisonal district, lost countywide 4,832 to Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R), 4,894.
John McCain won the county with 5,228 to Barack Obama’s 5,140.
Constitution wording passed 7,156 yes to 1,738 no. The County E911 monthly surcharge of $1.50 was renewed 5,260 yes to 4,060.
