L-M over Highland

The Highland girls’ basketball team lost to Louisa-Muscatine at Letts Tuesday, February 3, 31-41.
Highland scored only one point in the first quarter and trailed 5 - 20 at halftime. They outscored L-M 13-6 in the third quarter but couldn’t close the gap.
Anna Sweeting scored 13 points to lead the Huskies’ offense. She also led in rebounds with 12 for a double-double.
Kayla Schneider scored eight points, Brittney Gerot six points, and Mollie Kleopfer four in the losing effort.
Highland head coach Jody Fink said, “We did not come out and play in the first half. With the bad play of the first half, we still had a chance in the game. I was proud of how we played in the second half. The girls played with heart and as a team. We are in the middle of a tough stretch and I have confidence the girls will pull it together for the tourney run coming up.”
