In its second win in two weeks, the Highland Huskies football team shut out New London 28-0 Friday, October 16, at Riverside.
In the first quarter, Skyler Houseal scored on a one-yard run. Riley Kleopfer connected with Dakoda Flory for a two-point conversion, and the Huskies led 8-0.
In the second quarter, Flory scored twice on Kleopfer passes - one a 39-yard play and the other a nine-yard play. The two-point conversion attempts were no good.
There was no score in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Flory scored again, this time on a five-yard pass from Kleopfer. Houseal ran for two points for the final 28-0 score.
The Huskies had one turnover, and WMU had six, two fumbles lost, and four interceptions. Highland had 280 yards offense, 151 passing. Winfield had 226 total yards, 170 rushing.
