Highland Athletic Boosters

The Highland Athletic boosters met April 5 at the Highland High School.
The Treasurer’s report was given.
Last month’s minutes were approved.
Physical night was a big success. A request for financial support was made for the softball and baseball teams, but it was tabled until the next meeting. Banner additions have arrived and they are in the process of being added.
The Riverside Casino Foundation payment was made along with all submitted expenses.
Scholarship forms have been provided to the school. The winners will be announced at the Athletic Supper and during the School’s Award Night.
The Build-out committeee has set April 19 as the date to get into the new concession area. Items to sell were discussed. Brian Arnold has finished the cupboards in the outside concession stand. The old concession stand will be used for soccer games.
A meeting needs to be scheduled to discuss layout and design for the area to place the bricks from the fundraiser.
All discounted clothing will be on display at home events. About $500 of clothing was sold during the physical night.
A new wrestling room committee was formed. A meeting was held with parents of wrestlers to discuss and tour the new wrestling facilities. The list of items to complete the build out is decreasing. Painting is to be completed by a small group April 5-16.
Doug Ossman will be taking over the golf tournament which will be held at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. Meetings to plan the even should start in May.
Senior night for the soccer team is May 4.
Athletic pass information was distributed to the papers, put up on the website and will be in the Highland monthly newsletter. Positive feedback has been given but it was decided it needs to be promoted more.
Volunteers are needed to work in the concession stand during the spring/summer sports seasons. Winter workers made $2,800.
The Athletic Boosters Supper (formerly the H-Club) will be held May 8. Everyone is welcome – kids, fans, coaches, and parents.
The football program is in need of financial support to purchase 100 new jerseys and 50 pants. $2,000 was approved for now. It will be reevaluated at the next month’s meeting.
The proposed business main supplier list for the spring and summer concessions was reviewed and finalized. May-Godfathers; June-Casey’s; July-Subway.
New officers will be elected at the May 3 meeting along with a discussion of the bylaws.
Fence ads for the softball and baseball fields were discussed.
The next meeting will be held Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m. in the Highland High School.
