Highland Boys Track
Following a ninth place finish in the SESIC last year, the Highland Huskie boys’ track team returns four lettermen. Although low in numbers, the Huskies look to improve on last year’s conference finish.
Returning letterwinners include seniors Dylan Reed, Tom Rohret and Aaron Swailes and sophomore William Greiner. Senior srpinter Tyler Thomann is returning after suffering an injury last year.
Sophomore thrower Troy Gant and middle distance runner Jesse Kleopfer are new this year.
Head Coach Dan Dickel looks at a large freshman class of eight boys joining the squad. Freshmen includes sprinters Tyler Brenneman, Bradlee Lucas and Derrick Stewart; middle distance runners Matt Eden, Brad Lampe, Talon McFarland and Zack Popham; and distance runner Luke Mahler.
“Our boys have made tremendous improvement from a year ago,” said coach Dickel.
Dickel is in his fourth season coaching the young Huskie team.
